Easing lifetime transitions with Cognitive Behavioral Therapies
This international experience will focus on the use of cognitive behavioral therapies for use with people across the age span who have mental health concerns related to life transitions such as parenthood, aging, medical illness. Working with University of Iceland and University of Akureyri, nursing faculty and students, and nursing students from Sweden, Norway and Lithuania, UMN students will learn about using cognitive behavioral therapies to help people manage depression and anxiety related to life transitions. Expert international clinicians will teach students about cognitive behavioral therapies in a workshop format and students will observe Icelandic clinicians during clinical site visits. Additional experiences include cultural excursions and pre-trip readings and on-line activities.
